Morocco authorises cannabis growth for medical purposes in three regions

The Cabinet of the Moroccan government has formally adopted the decision to authorise three regions – Al Hoceima, Chefchaouen, Taounate – to lawfully grow cannabis solely for medical purposes. The decree (n°2.22.159) has now been published in the official gazette, and a French translation will follow in the coming weeks.

The adoption marks an important step forward in the full implementation of the “Lawful Uses of Cannabis” bill, but more remains to be done before the country sees its first legal cannabis crops grown.
