Mexico’s Senate has drafted new legislation that, if approved, would legalise and regulate recreational cannabis consumption, sales, cultivation, import, export and distribution.
The latest draft of the bill, which circulated in the final week of November, could be voted on in the two Mexican legislative houses — the Senate and Chamber of Deputies — before the 15th December conclusion of current law-making sessions, according to senator Ricardo Monreal of the ruling Morena party.
