Malawi has asked former world heavyweight champion boxer Mike Tyson to be its ambassador for its cannabinoid products sector, which it is boosting in the run-up to new legislation that takes force in 2022. Tyson, who established his own cannabis products company in 2016, is rumoured to have accepted. However a Malawi civil rights group is protesting against this on the grounds of Tyson’s previous jail term for rape.
