Kanavape ruling: 17 months on, EU-wide compliance remains patchy and unsure

The European Commission has emphasised that EU member states must apply the ruling of the Courts of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) in the Kanavape decision to national law. The Commission (EC) also argued for the ruling to be applied only to hemp-extracted CBD and not extended to other hemp-derived products.

Seventeen months after the publication of the Kanavape decision by the CJEU, non-compliance with the ruling is still widespread across the EU.
