EU states could deem CBD, other cannabinoids illegal in cosmetics

Following a Freedom of Information request, CBD-Intel has ascertained that according to EU authorities cannabidiol and other extracts of cannabis could be deemed illegal as an ingredient in cosmetics. However, our research shows individual member states have not made the same interpretation of the rules at this stage. Member states, not institutions, are responsible for enforcing and interpreting cosmetic regulation, although it is very likely member states will take any EU stance into consideration when deciding how to interpret such regulations.
