UK clean energy specialist Peel NRE has announced ambitious plans to set up a production facility for medicinal cannabis on the Isle of Man with the aim of exporting products to alternative markets outside the EU with favourable legislation.
The Isle of Man is a self-governing British crown dependency in the Irish Sea between England and Ireland which changed its law in late 2020 to enable cannabis crops to be grown on its land. It began assessing hemp production applications in early 2021.
