US - Utah: House Bill 385 has been signed into law, providing clarification rather than change for CBD products. Among other things, it prohibits cannabinoids in conventional food and drinks, cannabinoid products that are enticing to children, and smokable flower, and lays down requirements for hemp-processing licence applications. Utah previously only allowed cannabinoid products in specified “medicinal dosage form”.

US - Utah: Senate Bill 153 has been signed into law. The new law establishes a working group on medical cannabis to study and recommend whether “to vertically integrate licenses, streamline regulations, and reduce costs for patients by unifying the efforts of the Department of Health and the Department of Agriculture and Food under a single state authority over medical cannabis”.

Utah: Senate Bill 190 and SB 195 have been passed by the Senate and now head to the House. Among other things, SB 190 would include all THC isomers in the THC calculation for hemp-derived products and would require a statement on hemp-derived products that the product is not cannabis nor medical cannabis. Meanwhile, SB 195 would add acute pain for which opioids might be prescribed as a qualifying condition for medical cannabis and would regulate advertising for medical cannabis, among other things.
