Portugal: The National Authority for Medicines and Health Products (Infarmed) has issued a circular stressing that the use of the cannabis plant for any purposes other than medicinal is prohibited. It also emphasised that the use of CBD in cosmetic products is prohibited, with the exception of substances or preparations obtained from seeds with a THC content not exceeding 0.2%.

Portugal: The non-profit organisation Cannacasa has asked the Council of Ministers to suspend Ordinance 14/2022, published in January, which established new rules for the cultivation of hemp, press reports. According to Cannacasa, the establishment of a minimum area for planting, the limitation of sowing densities and other measures do direct damage to the hemp industry. The association also asked the authorities to request the consideration of the ordinance by the Constitutional Court.
