CBD in Poland

Polish rules vary over type of product and region, making it a complex market. This page includes all of our detailed full-length Polish market and regulatory reports, as well as both business and regulatory briefings covering current updates from the country.

Regulations vary in different regions across Poland

Cannabidiol (CBD) is treated as a distinct chemical compound and is not subject to restrictions under the Drug Prevention Act. Current legislation does not provide any information on the extraction of CBD or full spectrum. Finished products containing CBD are not regulated and both the industry and the authorities seem to be confused about CBD products. There is also some confusion among different regional authorities over aspects of the CBD regulation.

In the summer of 2020, an influential Polish think tank released a report calling for a relaxation of Poland’s cannabis regulations to allow the country’s producers and processors to become more competitive in the food, cosmetics and supplements markets.
