Norway operates under a strict regulatory framework for CBD and related products. This page includes all of our detailed full-length Norwegian market and regulatory reports, as well as both business and regulatory briefings covering current updates from the country.
In Norway, industrial hemp is restricted in equal measure to cannabis. The legal framework does not have a special category for industrial hemp, which is enforced by the authorities who’s extremely strict interpretation disables any hemp-related activities in the country.
Authorities are examining possible relaxation of the regulatory restrictions, which might make some CBD products permissible. The Medicines Agency is currently working on an advisory that would set limits on CBD concentration in non-drug products. The document should present possibilities of fitting CBD into the existing regulatory framework.
