Regulations still need development for CBD in Croatia

The Law on Amendments to the Drug Abuse Act came into force in Croatia on 25th April 2019, allowing the cultivation of industrial hemp for various industrial purposes – such as nutritional, agricultural, medical, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, veterinary, construction, textile, energy and scientific research.

CBD is not a scheduled substance under the Croatian drug regime and current legislation does not provide any information on the extraction of CBD. Despite unclear regulations, there are CBD products available on the Croatian market.
