The Canadian government is proposing a change in the regulations governing cannabis-infused beverages to increase the number of drinks that can legally be bought at a time.
Currently, consumers can possess up to 2.1 litres of cannabis beverages in public. Since a store is considered a public place, that means most people can only buy five 355 ml cans at a time.
Under the proposed changes, that limit would rise to 17.1 litres, which the government estimates would allow Canadians to possess up to 48 standard-sized cans of cannabis drinks in public.
